We can now see more clearly how many people continue to experience COVID-19 symptoms years after testing positive.

Six to 18 months after an infection that caused symptoms, a large-scale investigation of Scottish COVID-19 patients indicated that nearly half of the subjects only partially or never recovered. These individuals are regarded by doctors as having post-COVID, also known as extended COVID.

Long COVID is frequently accompanied by symptoms like fatigue, fever, headaches, and sleep disturbances.

The study, which examined the experiences of almost 100,000 patients, also demonstrated that immunization provides defense against chronic illnesses.

It reflects some of the tendencies we are observing in America, according to Dr. Jackson Maddux, an expert in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Allina Health.
