Authorities were called to the home of Judge Arthur Engoron on Thursday in response to a bomb threat. The judge is currently overseeing the civil fraud case against former President Trump in New York. The threat was confirmed by Al Baker, a court spokesperson, who stated that the court proceedings and closing arguments would continue as planned despite the incident. As a precaution, the court has implemented additional security measures. The trial, brought forth by the New York Attorney General’s Office, accuses Trump, his sons, and the Trump Organization of inflating and deflating asset values to gain financial advantages. Trump and his sons have denied these allegations. The trial began in October, and this week it was reported that Trump intended to deliver his own closing argument. However, Judge Engoron rejected the request due to concerns that Trump might veer off-topic. The judge has clashed with Trump throughout the trial, with the former president accusing him and Attorney General Letitia James of bias. Closing arguments are set to take place on Thursday, with each side given two hours and 15 minutes to present their final statements. The case could be concluded before the month ends.
